The alginate, derived from seaweed, turns to a moist gel mass material when saturated, and then surrounds the wound. When it's time to remove the dressing, it is virtually painless as the sheet dressing does not stick to the wound. These are perfect for wounds with moderate to heavy exudate and can help absorb minor bleeding. The flexible wound care product can be cut to fit the wound dimensions, and conforms to the wound bed. A secondary dressing is needed to help hold the sheet dressing in place and protect the wound from outside elements.
