The bird house has a 1" diameter hole so birds can peek inside to create a nest. There is a string of solar lights at the top of the eaves to illuminate the house at night. The solar lights require 8 hours of direct sunlight to fully charge and will stay on for approximately 4 hours on a full charge. The bird house has a 2.25" square door with a latch on the side to easily open it to access and clean the inside.
