This carefully balanced and highly concentrated mixer combines orange, caramelized sugars, and a bitters spice recipe rooted (no pun intended) in gentian root. The result is a dark, ponderous syrup that includes bitter notes reminiscent of a classic cola. Just mix one half of an ounce of this mixer with around two ounces of bourbon, rye, or your favorite whiskey for a delicious old fashioned.
